March 13th Sonja and Toroa went to the music "exam", where there were about 50 loud enthusiastic children with instruments. First they had to answer some questions on music theory and then were divided into smaller groups to work on the collective piece of music. Much later, Toroa emerged in tears and the teacher left me with him. I got him to play and more or less made him go back into the room with the others, feeling that if he didn't he would hate himself. |

The conductor then changed the order of the phrases and this threw Toroa so he just sat there and didn't play.
It was obvious that these children had years of playing but most of all, I think it was the buzz and energy of the children that threw Toroa most. Anyway we know that he will not get in, since they will choose about half out of the group, and Toroa did not want to join anyway. |

For a year now the 12 of us have worked in one large room. In the beginning I
found it difficult to concentrate, now I play loud music and sit on the periphery.
In a month we will move to smaller 2 person offices. Errol is at the digitalizing station (just a pc with a miro capture card) and Natascha is on the right. My computer is out of sight to the left of the photo. |

March 26th:
Toroa enjoys cycling now and cycles to his music lesson. On this day, though, he hit a child who jumped out onto the street. In Toroa's words: "I braked as hard as I could, but I still hit him. The boy fell over but then stood up again and ran away. I hope that they don't sue me." Note that Toroa carries his violin on the back of the bicycle. Sen had an extension added at the back for this.
